Mid America Trials Team

The “Fun in the Sun 2-day” is May 17th and 18th in Trenton, MO. The Sat is a fun practicing day with a free Trials School in the afternoon and the actual event is on Sun. This is a great time to meet people if you are new to the sport or club and feel free to camp out. M.A.T.T. will also have its highly contested horseshoe tournament Sat night, so practice up. Also, there has been a change in location for the June 15th trials. The June trials will be held in Trenton, MO and not at the Carpenters.

The M.A.T.T. family continues to grow. Expert rider Dave Johnson from IA was voted into the club, and there are a few others fulfilling the requirements to become new members. Also, Mr. Jason Carpenter and Ms. Suzanne Arnold recently became engaged. Looks like the wedding will be around the first of November. Congratulations and good luck to all.

Looks like the Ute Cup will be August 16th and 17th in Pueblo, CO. The Ute Cup is an event that is geared for the good Amateur/Intermediate rider and up. Roughly 20 sections with 2 loops and all riders compete in the same class. The loops are fairly long and have some great scenery. This is a very fun event and a large number of M.A.T.T. members attend every year. Since there is no trials in Aug, check out this exciting and challenging event.

Rounds 1 & 2 of the US Nationals took place in Temecula, CA this past weekend and our local boys did pretty well. Jason Carpenter and Jake Wieland are both competing in the Expert class while Dale Malasek is riding in the senior 55 class. Jason finished 4th on Fri and 5th on Sat while Jake finished 16th on Fri and 14th on Sat. Dale won his class both days. Jason and Jake both rode the Trial de Espana (Expert class) on Sun with Jason taking 3rd and Jake taking 4th. Good luck the rest of the series guys.
