President’s Message June ‘03

Well, it’s been a pretty hectic time for me these last few months. With a job loss in February, new job in March, going onto night shift in April, and my mother’s illness up in South Dakota, it hasn’t left a lot of time to focus on MATT interests. I want to welcome new members to the Club and thank those current members who have done such a great job of staging events and looking after Club business.

Now it’s time to start focusing on our premier event – the 30th Annual Quarry Cup, Sept. 20-21. There is a long list of assignments for Club members to “volunteer” for. I would like to have a planning meeting at my home on Saturday evening, June 21, with a backup date of June 28 if the 21st is not possible. Time will be at 7:30 p.m. and bring your swim suit if you’d like to swim after the meeting. My address is 2609 NW 86th St., Kansas City, MO 64154 (near intersection of Hwys. 152 & 169), tel (816) 468-9430, email: glbarton42@aol.com. Because of my work schedule, Saturday evening is about the only time I can count on being available.
