Central Regional Series News - There will be 8 rounds counting your best 6.
    Rounds 1 & 2 – M.A.T.T. Trenton, MO Sept 20th & 21st
    Rounds 3 & 4 - A.V.T.A. Douglas, KS Oct 4th & 5th
    Rounds 5 & 6 – N.E.O.T.T. Grand Lake, OK Oct 18th & 19th
    Rounds 7 & 8 – N.T.T.A. Muenster, TX Nov. 8th & 9th

Due to scheduling issues, M.W.T.A. (Omaha) was unable to be part of the series this year. There will be a copy of the rules at each event but here are the two main changes. No backing up is the first one and the other is taking a single dab and keeping your foot down for as long as you need and it still just being a one. There might be an approximate 5 sec call on this due to not being timed per section. If you have any questions about the rules, ask Jason Carpenter.

President’s Message July ‘03

Well, the Quarry Cup Organizational Meeting has been held and we had a good turnout of members to start putting the show together. As in years past many of the same members have stepped forward to take on these tasks.

This year however, we won't have the help of Bill Carver who did so much to bring these past events success. It is now up to the rest of us to pull together and do Super Bill's memory proud. We've already had some prospective members step forward and volunteer their services to help out. Elsewhere in this issue you will find a list of those folks who will be heading up the various committees and duties. I ask the rest of the membership to contact those folks and volunteer yourself in a duty you feel comfortable with. If we all do a little, it will lighted the load for all.

I'm really excited about our involvement with the Central Region Rounds and a couple of new classes, One is the Rookie Class, open to first timers who will ride the entire loop, but only ride the 5 easiest sections. Next is the Cadet Class limited to 12 years of age and under. Sections will be laid out in the parking areas and consist of very easy, mostly flat sections. This is to get those youngsters and parents involved. We haven’t worked out all the details yet, but it should be fun with a capital F. It will be a tight schedule to get all the events in, but with any luck and lots of work we should succeed. I can't wait to see how it goes!

Feet Up and Forward!

Letter from the Grundy Social Club:

This is an open letter to the Matt members and the Grundy shareholders. The Grundy shareholders have met and voted on a number of items Concerning the use of the quarry at Trenton. These rules are being put in writing and will soon be passed out to everyone. Until you see the OFFICIAL rules let me tell you in general what was voted on. Also, it's not an issue if these rules weren't followed in the past because they weren't generally known, but from this point forward that is not the case and the rules will be followed.

1. Other than setting up sections there is to be no clearing of any kind without following these guide lines. First, if you want to clear for a camp site you must get approval from the occupants of every surrounding campsite. Second, you must contact the directors of Grundy and get their Only then can you clear.

2. The Grundy directors are going to take up the issue of storage at the Quarry. Until the time that a decision is made and voted on, there is to be NO personal storage at the individual campsites. We are thinking about two different approaches here. One is to allow only for large centralized storage at one location, or to allow individual storage at each campsite. Although the finale rules haven't been voted on we do know that if individual storage is allowed there will be certain rules. For example, there will be a maximum size and we will identify what is expected concerning the location of storage within the campsite. Also, said storage will need to be in good repair with lockable doors. We will identify what these sheds can be made out of. In general they will need to appear to be residential outside storage sheds and not just surplus scraps of material. Just like the issue of lot clearing every campsite holder will need prior authorization BEFORE placing any storage on heir campsite. In addition, the directors will act as the zoning authority and can require that the storage sheds be fixed up and brought into compliance or removed. Again, this issue hasn't come up for a finale vote so at this time no storage is allowed. Also, now that I have put some general statements out there concerning what we are looking at, it's your turn to comment. Please address your comments to Randy Storr, Bob Sanderson or Kelly Echterling.

Thanks,
  Randy Storr
