Mid America Trials Team
The next M.A.T.T. trials is the annual Hot Dog Trials and will be on Oct 26th in Trenton, MO. Notice that the trials has been moved to the 4th Sunday of the month due to the Central Regional Series event in Oklahoma being on the 3rd.
The date of rounds 6 & 7 of the Central Regional Series in Muenster, TX has also been moved to November 15th & 16th. This is also the same date as our local event. We will decide at the Oct event in Trenton if we will change our local trials date.

President’s Message July ‘03
WE DID IT!! In spite of some setbacks, WE were able to make the 30th Annual Quarry Cup a success! Each year WE come together and put on a premiere Trials event, the oldest continuously held Observed Trials event in North America! That is a remarkable achievement!
The weekend started out great with the Friday evening Fish Fry, thanks to Jim and Susan Bridges. All who were there really enjoyed it.Saturday we had a good turnout of riders and the weather was super. Sunday...well, it turned out nice and even though I decided to shorten the event, all seemed to turn out OK.
I have so many to thank for their efforts in
staging the event, I hardly know where to start. So, I think I'll start with
the ladies.Thank you Chris Hopkins for organizing all the materials needed for
the scoring shed and all the Score Shed Ladies for your efforts. Cheryl, Eva,
LaDonna, Shanna, Kari, Kathy and Jane. Susan and Doris for getting all the food
and drinks for the Saturday night feed and setting it up. Mary for T-shirt
sales and all the ladies for their wonderful desserts. Great Job, Ladies!!
Jim Jeter and Steve Morgan for heading up the Saturday and Sunday section crews,
and all the members for their efforts on setting up some very challenging
sections. Carl, Tim, Paul, Jim T., Jim B., Bill W., Bill D., Dave, Bill & Bob
Sanderson, The Carpenters, Kelly, Greig, Ray, Craig, Dale, Ken and Bruce.
Great Job, Guys! Randy and Carrie Dennis, Bill Drake, Kelly and Joe Logsdon
for doing a fine job with the cadet class and making sure the kids had fun.
Let's do that again! Randy Storr for getting all the checkers organized and
assigned their sections. I apologize for getting the riders sent off a little
early, before some of the checkers were ready. Mike Carpenter for Loop Marking,
sweeping, etc., etc. Deward and Marilyn Critten for gate duty and the
"necessaries" and Rick and Scott for "maintenance".Jason for being our
CRTC Representative and explaining the Competition Rules. Dale for Saturday
evening entertainment and Larry Werthmuller for one heck of a bonfire. It took
a lot of rain to finally put it out!
Russ Amos, for those handsome awards. What a class act! I'll treasure mine
forever! Paul Turnbull for stamping the finisher pins.Lastly, I'd respectively
like to honor the memories of two members we lost in the past year.
Bill Carver and Lloyd Drake. Their spirit and enthusiasm for this event were
present and I'd like to believe that they would approve of our efforts and
results! If I have overlooked or missed anyone I sincerely apologize!
Thank You All,
Gary Barton
