Randy Dennis was unanimously voted in as Vice President. Mr. Jim Bridges will be handling the Treasurers duties and Marc Carpenter will be the Secretary/P.R. again.
The X-mas party will be Saturday December 14th at the Barton Home. This is the night before the Trials so everyone is expected at both events. Directions:
The annual Postage Stamp Trials put on by Russ and Larry will be held at the Amos home on Jan 1st with a start time of 1 pm. Entry is a book of stamps or $7.40. Great food is also served and other dishes are always welcome.
President’s Message November 2003
Although I wasn't able to be at the Oct. Hot Dog Trials, I understand all went well. Elections for 2004 Officers were conducted and are as follows: Gary Barton, President; Randy Dennis, Vice-President; Marc Carpenter, Secretary- Public Relations; and Jim Bridges, Treasurer. At this time I'd like to thank Paul Turnbull and Jim Jeter for their Services in 2003. Welcome Randy and Jim on board for 2004 and welcome back Marc. I was willing to serve again since I didn't accomplish several of the things I wanted to try to do.
Some of the issues I'd like to address in 2004 are updating and Correcting Club by-laws and making sure all members get an updated copy. Also, I'd like to get the MATT website updated on a monthly basis and See more photos and text on the site. Here is where I need your help. Now, I can barely run and check my Email. So....is there someone in the club who has experience and would volunteer for this position?
Another item I'd like to expand on is the Cadet Class and perhaps a Rookie Class as well. I'm sure we all realize how important it is to encourage, nurture, and develop new riders to our sport. As we did at the Quarry Cup, I hope we can involve parents and other family members in staging these events. In fact, it will be necessary to do just that. Besides, it really is a lot of fun!! MATT is a working club where all members are required to serve in some capacity during the year to organize, help and work to better the club. Thanks to all those who have stepped up and eased the load on everyone.
Now the next item will be the Christmas Party! Saturday, Dec. 13th at
About 6:00 PM. It will be held at our digs, 2609 NW 86th St. in Kansas City North.
We're located about a mile west of Hwy. 169 and Barry Road.
Going west on Barry Rd. pass Platte Purchase and continue two more streets to Marston.
Turn North on Marston and go three blocks to NW 86th St., turn left one long
block and we'll be the second house on the left. I have two driveways so feel
free to park in either. Bring snacks, drinks, salads or ? Leftovers, if any,
will probably show up at the Trials the next day.
See you at the next event,
Gary Barton
