President Message:
Well, we've had some great events so far this year. The Trialsmasters have done
a really good job and we've drawn riders from some distance to compete.
Thanks go out to Russ Amos, Ken Brown, and Mike and Cheryl Carpenter for allowing us to use their properties.
May's event at Trenton was really fun for all who attended. Thanks for the Trials
School, Jason and Dale. I think just about everyone learned something useful.
I noticed how attentive the younger riders were and your personal attention and
help was inspiring.
The Golf Cart events staged by the Carpenters and all, were a big hit and lots of laughs for all of us. Just a suggestion, but do you think we could do that again in Oct. at the Hot Dog Trials?
I also want to thank Keri and Randy Dennis, Bill Drake, Joe Logsdon and Doug York for helping out at the Kids Trials. The kids had fun, the parents had fun, and the rest of us had fun. A real win, win, win situation.
We were able to award every rider with a prize and this brings me to my next subject. Some folks have returned some of their awards to the club for recycling. If you would like to do the same, we will find them a good home.
Also on the subject of recycling. If you have some serviceable riding gear i.e. helmets, boots, gloves etc. bring them to the score shed so that in the event that someone forgets to bring one of these we would have a backup for the day.
Please remember that MATT does not own any of the property that we ride on. We are guests wherever we ride and it is each person's responsibility to behave accordingly. It's important to wear helmets and protective gear even if you're not competing.
Finally it's time to start thinking about the 31st Annual Quarry Cup event in September. There will be a planning meeting at my home on Saturday, July 31st-7:30 pm. We'll have pizza and soft drinks for all who attend. Please RSVP me at 816 468-9430 or email if you can attend. My address is 2609 NW 86th St, KC, MO 64154. We're located just a little southwest of the intersection of Hwys 152 and 169.
I'm also asking for suggestions or ideas for this year's event. I realize I overlooked a few things last year and hopefully I will correct those, this time.
Well, that's all for now - Feet up and forward!
