Mid America Trials Team
Dec 05
Welcome to a new year for the Mid America Trials Team. Hope you all made it through the holiday season in one piece. We've been enjoying great weather the past few weeks and this looks to continue as we head towards our first event in Trenton, MO this coming Sunday the 15th. Please note that due to unpredictable weather in these parts, that it was decided to wait until the day of to set events in the months of January and February. So with early results showing Mother Nature in good spirits, I believe we are a go. So come early if you can to help set up a section or two. The start time may vary from our usual 11:00, so be prepared. Directions: Trials site located 3 miles west of Trenton, MO, just north of the junction of Hwy 6 & Hwy 146. Trenton is approx. 90 miles north east of Kansas City. From KC, go north on I-35 to exit 61 (Hwy 6) and turn east. (follow signs toward Crowder State Park) Turn north on Hwy 146 (big white cross) and go approx. 1/8 of a mile and turn right on the gravel road (N.A.P. Quarry). Lock gate behind you. Combination lock is 6288 (MATT).
For those that made it, the Christmas party was a very enjoyable affair. Jim Jeter hosted the party with lots of various activities. You could enjoy Travis Pastrana's exploits on the big screen, or catch the Most Extreme Elimination Challenge marathon downstairs along with pool and Bill Sanderson's topless table dancing (much to the delight of the ladies). Bill also was the repeat award winner for the infamous Zebra helmet much to the dismay of Chris. Thanks Jim for a good time
The first round of the 2006 World Indoor Series is in the books with a surprise winner. Held in Sheffield, England, the final of the evening consisted of reigning champ Adam Raga, his teammate Jeroni Fajardo and quickly rising star Toni Bou. Notables not making the main were hometown favorite Doug Lampkin, Albert Cabestany, and Takahisha Fujinami. It was nip and tuck until the final race where Toni Bou beat Adam Raga by one point. Toni will not be eligible to ride all of the rounds, so it will be interesting to see how this series plays out. Here's the results:
1. Toni Bou Bet 6
2. Adam Raga Gas 7
3. Jeroni Fajardo Gas 16
Not making the final
4. Albert Cabestany She 12
5. Takahisha Fujinami Mon 16
6. Doug Lampkin Mon 17
