Mid America Trials Team
June 2006
Greetings all. It's that time of the month again to have a quick peek into the trials world of the Mid America Trials Team. So let's get on with it.
Our next trials will be June 18th (a.k.a - Father's Day). The location will once again be in Trenton, MO with a start time approx. around 11:00 AM. It's been awhile since we last had an event, so dust off your mount and take a plonk around the woods. Also, just to give everyone a heads up, the July event will also be in Trenton on the 16th. Directions: Trials site located 3 miles west of Trenton, MO, just north of the junction of Hwy 6 & Hwy 146. Trenton is approx. 90 miles north east of Kansas City. From KC, go north on I-35 to exit 61 (Hwy 6) and turn east. (follow signs toward Crowder State Park) Turn north on Hwy 146 (big white cross) and go approx. 1/8 of a mile and turn right on the gravel road (N.A.P. Quarry). Lock gate behind you. Combination lock is 6288 (MATT).
The Tennessee nationals and world round was well represented by the Mid America Trials Team held back in May. The national portion for the Support and Expert-Sportsman riders was held on Friday and turned out to be a slick affair. When the lowest support score comes in at 37, it was definitely going to be a tough day. Our boys were up to the challenge, just ask the guy who first almost rode into his truck, then after killing the machine, tried to kick start it and put his foot through a plastic crate busting it to pieces, and finally got the bike running, parked it and watched it fall over all by its lonesome. Our boys who rode in the world round national events didn't fair much better. I alone took a header into the creek, tried to split my helmet in two by bashing it into a rock and took a tumble when I high sided on an off camber log I didn't make it over. I know this all sounds gruesome, but everyone finished and no bikes were totally demolished. And for as hard as we made it look, the top world riders breezed through the sections often calling them too easy. It truly is incredible what those guys can do on two wheels. Here are the results of the top five World riders and how our members faired.
