Mid America Trials Team

July 2006

Greetings all. The time is fast approaching for yet another melt down. No, I'm not talking about any rider imploding or exploding, whichever the case may be, but rather our next trials where it can get so hot your tires actually melt to the rocks. That's right, the July event is here. So pack your gear and your glass of Kool-aid and head on up to Trenton, MO this coming Sunday the 16th. Start time will be the usual 11:00 AM. Directions: Trials site located 3 miles west of Trenton, MO, just north of the junction of Hwy 6 & Hwy 146. Trenton is approx. 90 miles north east of Kansas City. From KC, go north on I-35 to exit 61 (Hwy 6) and turn east. (follow signs toward Crowder State Park) Turn north on Hwy 146 (big white cross) and go approx. 1/8 of a mile and turn right on the gravel road (N.A.P. Quarry). Lock gate behind you. Combination lock is 6288 (MATT).

The Quarry Cup is fast approaching and the club held a planning meeting on July 5th. Club Prez Ken Brown Jr. presided over the melee. The club cussed and discussed the various committees and who would fill what role. I will have a listing of all the committee heads in the August news line. Not to worry though, everyone got latrine duty. The Quarry Cup is our biggest event of the year. So let's all chip in and make this one bigger and better than the last one. (Which was pretty good).

The seventh round of the World Championship was held in Poland this past weekend. Takahisha Fujinami made it two in a row with another victory. This moves him into second place in the standings ahead of Dougie Lampkin but still trailing Adam Raga. Adam finished the event in second with Albert Cabestany in third. Albert currently sits fourth in points. The circuit now takes a break for a few weeks before resuming again at Hawkstone Park in England at the end of this month. This has been a title battle for the top contenders and consistency seems to be the name of the game. Stay tuned.

Congratulations go out two our two rising stars Nathan and Dawson Dennis. Both took the overall at the Youth Nationals held at the Trials Training Center near Chattanooga, TN over the July 4th weekend. Dawson shook off the cobwebs and took the 6 yr old division. Nathan continued his dominance from last year in the 9yr old age group. Nice job fellas. For photos from the event, go to www.trialstrainingcenter.com

At the June trials, the club voted in new member Jim Crabtree. Currently, Jim rides in the Amateur class. Welcome aboard Jim.

The club is looking at bringing up some concrete pipes and culverts on a flat bed tractor-trailer. Does anyone have the capability to supply heavy machinery to help get these off and positioned on the ground? If so, please call me at (816) 806-8163. There is no set schedule to do this, but would like to get it done before the two-day if possible. Thanks.
