Great turn out, great weather, lots of spectators and great friends. What else can you ask for. Thanks to Russ and his little helpers for turning out another great New Years Day trials. The results are attached in Excel and Word doc formats.
Lots of close scores. In the Novice class Steve Porter showed up with his twin shock Montesa and took an impressive 3rd place. Tammy Cook swept the Amateur class with a 1st place leaving everyone in the dust, well maybe moist dirt. Sr Am class saw Jim Bridges squeezing out 1st place with a score of 18 followed closely by Jim Thornton with 19 and Kelly Echterling with 21. Intermediate class had the best showing with 11 riders. Several places had to be settled with cleans. Mitch Wing cleaned up the class and came in 1st with a score of 19 followed by Randy Dennis 2nd with a score of 35. I would like to suggest that going forward Mitch is given a handicap of 1 point per section per loop this would bring his score more in line with the rest of the class resulting in less embarrassment by those of us who have large scores. Expert class saw Luke Gray taking 2nd so look out you guys this year he's moving on up. Master class had the second best showing of riders with 7. Seth Gray took second beating out Scott Carpenter by 1 point. Looks like the Gray boys might be making a run on the Carpenter clan this year. Should be a great year for trials. Thanks to all the out of town riders who came and supported MATT. Also thanks to all the club members who showed up. One of the better turnouts of a late and hopefully the weather holds and we have another event the third weekend in Jan. at Trenton.
Some upcoming dates: January and February depends on the weather at Trenton. March 18 at Ken Brown's farm in Easton. March 31 and April 1, 1st round of the Central Regionals in Tishamingo, OK. Our regular trials in Apr on the third weekend in Trenton and Scott Carpenter's trials possibly on the last weekend in Apr in Excelsior Springs, MO.
